Paso, the "New Classic"

We all know that the Paso was a classic the day it first left the factory, but I have noticed recently more and more web sites, magazines and books are pushing the Paso as "the" next big thing. So a simple question, we know, but will other bikers etc see the light, and what will it do for us? Higher values, higher insurance, easier to get spares?
Just curious

In 2005 I was asked to show my 907 in the Ducati display at Vintage Motorcycle days at Mid-Ohio. I felt kind of out of place with all the rare bikes around, but was very surprised at the reception it got. I heard lot of nice comments about it over the weekend but the big surprise was it was one of the bikes included in Classic Bike's coverage of the event - there's a picture of that on this site somewhere...
All in all I think the Paso line is getting more respect than it used to. Haven't heard anyone predict it will be the next big thing though. As Ducatis go, the bevel twins seem to be the real up and comers, especially the roundcase bikes.

Here in Sweden it is quite easy to find a Paso of any sort
at a really good price although there are a few outthere
with unrealistic prices. From Blocket in sweden I found
four 750:s one 906 and four 907:s from 25000 kronor
up to 40000 kronor wich translates to aprox. 2800 - 4500 euros.
If you are in for a fun, great, reliable..., fun, well full of character
I mean after all it´s an old Ducati. But if it won´t start at least it
should be beatiful to look at right??

Here in the States, I've noticed the prices have been fairly stagnant over the last few years, until recently. It's looking like they've hit a low and are on the verge of starting to climb. We'll have to see what happens in the next year or so.

That's the case in the UK, prices are creeping up, and the qaulity of what is available is going down, e.g. restoration projects are appearing for silly (high) prices, the suggestion being, nice, up and running examples are so sought after, they are begining to fect higher prices. I'm not saying we'll all be fighting off huge offers in the next few weeks, but the bike press in the UK is suggesting that in a couple of years, everyone will have cottoned on to what WE already know. If true, I should get another couple in stock now!!

I was offered a complete Paso 750 with a broken engine case where the chain broke and took a chunk out of it. I just can't justify a Paso needing that kind of work for $1500....expecially when I still don't have my project bike done, and I have a rolling chassis with bodywork and a second spare frame, already.
Now....if that guy can ever find the title to the second frame that I have.

Further info'!! Motorcycle News in the UK are running a feature on "doing up a Paso". All the comments made by the writer suggest a very much increased interest in the Paso. I'll try and scan the article, but it will be a while!
