Anybody know of a compatible ignition that will fit a 906? After my bike got stolen and hotwired they broke my steering lock and ignition switch...... Any help is much appreciated!

There is some discussion about this on the 750 forum. I was desperate and modified (filed and drilled off metal) a new switch from a late model Monster to match my Paso. The fork locks, wiring is the same code. It works, has a Ducati key, and even looks original too. But......

So are 906 and 750 key locks same, or no??? I mean electrical connections/connectors. How about 907 ????

Sorry, I have been gone for a few days. But.....it does not fit the original switch position. The guy selling it gave me the dimensions and it was close. So I went ahead and tried because I did not want a set of toggles, or some other unsightly mess. If you need a picture let me know and I will take it out for you. My only objection to the finished product is the two mounting holes. I carefully took a file and brought the two holes on the new switch out of center to match the Paso's centers, plus the fork lock alignment. Welding would be best, sure. Taking off the upper fork tree, welding and drilling new holes would work. Manufacturing special spacers for the new switch would work even better yet, which I might try later. But for now, I am using an epoxy filler. Mostly because it is out of sight anyway. So far all is well with this set up. The test of time remains.
