Motor Weight?

Hello Gentleman,
I'm still trying to get my new/old/dead 750 paso back on the road. I've located a running motor. The seller would prefer to clean out the garage with lots of misc parts including a titled frame with the motor mounted. Shipping is astronomical!
1. Suggestions for shipping would be appreciated. It is not a rolling chassy, rather a crate of parts.
2. Also If I can persuade him to sell me just the motor anyone know what it weighs? If it is under 150lbs (which I doubt) I can probably use UPS or DHL.
Thanks in advance,

No idea on the weight, but I'm sure shipping will be a few hundred dollars and have to go via freight. Shipping is often a little cheaper if you go dock-to-dock instead of to a residence. I no longer have any buddies who are truck drivers, so I can't help you there, either. The guy with the parts isn't located in NC, is he?

I've heard to say it's about 65 kgs (143 lbs) but I don't know if this includes accessories (such as carb and so on)

That's what I would guess from the weight of this ST4 engine that I have. I may have to buy a scale and weigh it. I figure the Paso engine should be very close to the same weight.

I bought a scale, last night. I'll try to weigh this ST4 engine with throttle bodies on it. That weight should be pretty close to the Pantah engine's weight.

On my cheap scale, the ST4 engine with throttlebodies weighed 160 pounds. I figure the Pantah engine should be 10-15 pounds lighter, as it doesn't have the waterpump housing, impeller, and some of the other liquid-cooled additions, plus.....I believe the flywheel on the ST4 engine is a bit heavier than the Pantah 750. Oh yeah...4V compared to 2V and an extra cam per head, also. I'd say that ducapaso's is probably correct, or at least within 5 pounds.
I hope this helps!

Thanks Terry and Anneti,
I just have to convince Chuck in NC to sell me just the motor. He said the clutch was toast so I could always have him pull that off to shave off a bit of weight. I'm going to do the Mikuni conversion as soon as I nail down the motor. I've got the carbs, throttle cables & grip & manifolds. I just need to get the dyno jet jet-kit for the 750. I've talked to a guy down this way who has a good 900SS motor but from reading the posts it sounds like a tad too much for me to tackle at this time. Doesn't seem like the 900 really makes much more power from the stuff I've been reading. 72hp for the paso and 80hp for the 900SS. I can't find any street dyno charts for the paso to have a true comparison of RWP other than the factory specs. Oh well just dreaming outloud.
Thanks again for going that extra mile. I really appreciate it.

I doubt there'd be much more shipping cost in buying everything from him, but there will be the additional cost of buying everything.
If you end up getting it all, depending on price and if my wife will kill me at that time, I'd be interested in the grab handle/taillight/seat latch assembly for the rear of my other project bike........I keep scheming to do another project, and I'm not even done with the first.

I'm drawing a blank in my mind, but what is wrong with your original engine?....Edit - Bad tranny (the search function is our friend!)
