On the Paso/750 sport with a Digiplex igniter there is a single Marelli pickup that is triggered by flywheel.

Does anyone know the Marelli part number.

I believe it is a SEN 8D.

Thanks in advance.

I don't know that number, but if you're in Europe, you can easily find it, since the same unit is fitted on many FIAT group cars, as FIAT UNO, Lancia Y10, etc.

Thanks for the reply!

Yes I realize....in fact the device is called an "Inductive Speed/RPM sensor"

It is used in many applications...automotive, motorcycles, race cars....ignition, electronic tachs etc.

The problem is it comes in a lot of variants....and I can't find which variant was used on this model Ducati.

Bucbean,
The pickup on my Sport looks almost identical to the one for my ST2. I dare say, they may interchange. They were both made by the same company. You can often find them on ebay for cheap.

One thing a bunch of ST owners found out was that the gap to the flywheel was set way too large. When set to the proper gap it started and ran much better . So check your gap before you set out to change the sensor.

Gap should be very close 0.75-0.80 mm. :smoke:

Ps. There is 2 and 3 wire pick ups(look close connector). They add later that 3rd wire for grounding.
