Changing front part

Hey guys i have half finished my swingarm transplant from a 907,i need only a wheel axle and a brake support,but today i found a vomplete front part from a benelli tnt and i completely fall in love :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
it will be so diifficult to mount,i reeat it .s complete wheel front clams brake etc etc,and the price is so good :smoke: :smoke:
give me suggestions i need it

everything is possible.
Using front discs and rim is for sure not a big issue. This starts if you want to use the radial brake calipers. These will require a special adapter.
If you can get the whole fork you`ll have the problem that the fork tubes will have such a large diameter that you won`t be able to steer unless you cut off the front edge of the tank.
This I know as I have a Laverda fork laying here. Next to that the geometry of the triple clamps is probably different, the steering axle will be too long etc etc

If I can remember, the "bucefalo" is a street figter, without fairing, so you'll need a complete front suspension, I mean both triple clamp, forks at least, and a useful rim, brakes, handles and so on.
If you have such parts, it'll be possible to do, just adapting the steering axle (maybe you'll need only a pair of bearings and a spacer, otherwise... :banghead:

Se mi ricordo bene, il bucefalo è uno street fighter, senza carene, così avrai bisogno soprattutto delle piastre di sterzo e degli ammortizzatori, più la ruota completa (basta che ci vada), i semimanubri e tutto quanto.
Se hai tutto il necessario, dovrai solo adattare il perno di sterzo (magari bastano 2 cuscinetti adatti e uno spessore), altrimenti... :banghead:

If I can remember, the "bucefalo" is a street figter, without fairing,
the fairings is the smaller problem. The issue is the tank (see second pic). You need to remove the complete front edge of the tank where the black rubber edge trim is. Otherwise there`s not enough space to steer. The larger fork tubes hit the tank.

Thanks guys,but i noticed that Gerhard hit the problem..... to little space between fork tube and tank :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: ......
no matter it's a good reason to spend my money for a better part :thumbup: :thumbup:

I will try my other fork one day and I also have an old dented tank to test with. The edge needs to be cut away and then rewelded. Maybe in summer ...

I don't know of a caliper bracket for sale at this time. Maybe an early Monster bracket will work, or a newer bracket with a bushing to reduce the hole from a 25mm to a 20mm size.

I have no idea on the Benelli front end. As others statesd, you can possibly have issues with clearance and/or geometry, but......I am a firm believer that you can make anything work......if you have the money and resources (machinists and welders).

my problem about axle is that i have a rim 4.5 with 17mm of innner diameter but i think i can use only axle from 907 or m 900,the other are not long enough,but as you said i noticed that this type of axle are 20 mm of diameter :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: .......
i hope i don't have to machine the hole of my rim :smoke: :smoke: ....

A 17mm rear axle for the rear wheel? Are you sure? I was just assuming that the rear wheel that I have from a '94 SS900 (also a 4.5) uses a 20mm axle, now you have me thinking I need to check (and to check the diameter of the 907 axle that I have).

If the rear wheel bearings really need a 17mm axle, you can change the wheel for a 20mm axle by buying new bearings with a 20mm ID and then make a spacer for the hub with a 20mm ID, also. It shouldn't be difficult.

Demon the problem it's not the bearing but the rim's hole.....

This is what I found out by checking the wheels and axles that I have...

1) '87 Paso 750 front wheel - 17mm axle
2) '87 Paso 750 rear wheel - 20 mm axle
3) 1992 907 rear axle - 17mm
4) '94 SS900CR front wheel - 20mm axle
5) '94 SS900CR rear wheel (4.5") - 17mm axle

I found it interesting that the SS900 has axles that were the opposite diameter as the Paso (the front and rear axle diameters are switched)...but I was really surprised to see that the 907 rear axle was 17mm, as I was assuming that they were 20mm like the Paso 750's axle.



Edit - Ducapiero, does this information help you, or do you need me to take the bearings out of the SS900 wheel to check the hub? If you need the hole in the wheel enlarged, you can probably use a small cylinder honing tool, such as this, to get a few more millimeters in diameter without needing a machinist...

All early 17 wheels on 851/SS/907/888/Monster have same axles,
20mm front & 17mm rear.
But locking nuts on my 907 is 24 mm & 22 on my Monster.... :?

Think the bracket from a Monster will fit, not so sure about the caliper fitting.

thanks for the answers guys,today i find an axle from a monster 600,it is 17 mm of the diameter and 330mm of lenght,i think the sizes are ok.... :smoke: :smoke: :smoke: :smoke:
