Hi guys my time is come i miss only rear disc and then i'll have all the "necessaire"to mount my new swingarm with my new tyre(very-soft)
Now my question is :
it will be so difficult to disassembe old swingarm and mount the new one?
i need special tools?
all suggestions will be appreciated

Hi Piero,

removing the swingarm and putting the new one in doesn`t require special tools, just the usual and maybe a rubber hammer and a torque wrench.
Just figure out how to make the bike stand stable when you remove wheel and swingarm.
If you don`t know age and condition of the swingarm bearings you should change them, now that the swingarm is not yet in the bike.

I had no problems removing my swingarm with the bike on the center stand. The bike was very stable.

I think the part of removing the swingarm that is the most PITA is that you have to remove the rear header pipe and pull it out of the swingarm. I always have a difficult time putting the exhaust back on the bike. It is easier to feed the pipe back through the swingarm with the shock removed. I can't think of anything else that may cause a problem, unless you have a bolt or bearings that are seized to the shaft. The removal and reinstallation is fairly straight-forward...

according to the 17" conversion info (that can be found in the downloads thread) it`s 5mm thick, inner diameter 20mm, outer 35mm.

have you checked the files again ?
But I noticed there`s a difference. You say your brake adapter is 17,9mm, the one of the guy describing the 17" conversion is 10mm. In that case your spacer should be even thinner

Don't forget that on the sprocket side of the wheel, you have to take into consideration that the sprocket carrier adds width to that side from the wheel's centerline, which results in the need for a thinner spacer on the sprocket side......I've also noticed that some motorcycles have swingarms that are offset to one side to allow for this difference in wheel width due to the sprocket carrier.

MMMMMMMMMM i have done a wrong in measurement the caliper bracket is 29,8 mm
i take this bracket from a monster 900 and it's the type with caliper positionated down....
I think it 's benn a erious problem to take right measurement for sapcers,i'm terrified to think what can be happen if i wrong ...

Piero, try to ask Zap. He has Supersport wheels on his bike, maybe he can tell you what brake adapter he used and what spacer.

Thanks G. but i mount a 907 swingarm,that is larger than stock 750,and as i see by this photo he mount the wheel with the old swingarm......

sorry I didn`t think of that , then of course also the before mentioned spacer is probably incorrect as the 17" wheel conversion (file) was done with the original swingarm also.

I don't have my 907 swingarm back from being welded because of some sprocket bolts that backed out, but I do have a 907 caliper bracket and a wheel with sprocket carrier from a '94 SS900 (4.5" width) if there are any measurments that I can help you with.

I have a complete 907ie swingarm right at hand and could measure here.
