dave says the clutchpack of a monster fits but do you put all plates in paso or a certain number, ive got six of each in mine just enough room for large circlip engages gears runs up to 4,000rpm then no drive and sounds terrible circlip hasnt fell out replaced master cylinder still havent a clue could i have put something else out of sync e.g valves carbs. ...desmodave.

I do not understand why you have no drive after 4,000 rpm?, i fitted the clutch plate kit # 19020051A it comprises 8 friction plates and 8 plain plates, i have 2 of each left over in the box so there are 6 of each that i fitted and i have no problems with my clutch, seems that you must have a problem elsewhere for there to be no drive at more than 4,000 rpm. just a thought but i might be wrong have you used a lock washer on the clutch centre nut as the centre may be loose possibly could cause no drive. my paso will drive and rev over 4,000 no problem it would rev to the red line if i wanted it to, so your problem is a mystery to me and i hope you can fix it. did you tension the clutch spings as the bolts should be tightened up so the plates grip and drive the clutch maybe they are loose and are slipping, it would also explain the noise you are getting from the clutch.

six of each plates yes, so we are close to width of original pack even without those special plates eh. Ive tightenend the plate bolts down dave, evenly like it says all the way in is this right? it doesn't say in mauals only gives their torque in nm for 750ss model anyway. when I look at this cant understand how clutch works? meaning how does the slave cylinder push against the plate if its right up and in the part its connected to?
what bike did the cluthpack come from? a monster? did you put a steel in first at 12 o'clock the next at three o'clock position and so on? I tried friction first like the early 750ss model but no joy only engages gears with steel in first. are all your steel plates the same too mine are with the little cuts in the hence the positioning. many thanks for your reply dave seems like everybodys been through this with paso but ive got the extra pain. my pack was from 998/b bostrom.

Dave if you did the clutch yourself fine and cheers, but leave it if some one else did it don't want you gettin in mess like im in.My guess is theres a lot of bikes plates that will slip into the paso, its about getting the right width the original is 32mm but they have 4 differing plates within them!......Ive now sent for the one you got from duke coventry, o.o.stock everywhere else should be here by fri they,I hope as Im back at work monday, bus ride and walk does my nut in! anyway thanks for keeping in touch sounds encouraging if you've been going for a while these beasts are good tourers when up and running going for oil and air filters today (which do you use?) also iridium plugs not tried these yet I use grade according to season cause ive still got weber carb which does'nt cause me as much trouble as other paso owners as my bike always starts well......cheers mate ill get back to you ok.
