Oil light turns on and clears itself

I was wondering if anyone has had a problem with some shorts with the electronics. My bike runs perfectly, but after washing it one day and going for a ride in the afternoon the check oil light came on and then cleared itself, then took her out a few days later, 40 miles went great, then the warning light came on and cleared itself a few times.

I have the manuals, but I was wondering if anyone had some experience with this, and if it's something serious..?

Sounds like you need a new sender. Check the connection to the sender for tight and clean. Water can get in and cause problems too. Nothing too serious.

Those OEM units were not so good quality, so better change it and see, what happens. I have also lost one in my 750 Paso. Also those neutral light switches are poor quality... :smoke:

Thank you very much, unfortunately it's too cold to go out riding anymore this season here in VT, but I do have the winter left to make a new seat, fix the idiot light and do the valves.

Hi Whitney --

Too cold to ride? Say it ain't so!

Are you a member of New England Desmo Owners Club http://www.nedoc.org? Lots of rides coming up -- check out the EVENTS and RIDES threads.

For example, October 19, starting at BCM Ducati in Laconia, New Hampshire, is Frosty's "Damn It's Cold" Ride, and November 15 is the Frozen Turkey Ride out of Mason NH. :D

And if you join the club, that will bring the Paso count in NEDOC to two.
