Good evening PasoBrothers!

Last night I bought a 1993 750SS and brought it home, two previous owners, just needs a bit of loving care.
Totally different in every sense from my '92 907IE, nice in it's own way.

So let the games (modifying, updating, spending more $$) begin!

One of my first mods would be to add the second front brake disc and caliper

Very, very nice. I have a friend that has a 92 (I think) with the white frame and it's just gorgeous. So simple and unadorned with uneeded bits. Looks like someone added the oil cooler?

Gerhard, I'm not sure that I would add the brake. It's a nice bike and the missinf rotor kind of gives it a super stripper look that is different. If not ridden too hard, 1 brake is plenty. I don't even have that good of a brake on my Indy and it stops!

I'm with you Jon on the brakes, why spoil the minimalist look. All the performance upgrade on the brakes that is required is some decent stainless lines and a good fluid. Why add all the additional weight for street use?

I think a more tastefull brake upgrade would be getting a single nice cast iron rotor and some nice brake pads. Lots more braking, still clean single disc look.

Cheers,

Yeah, A nice light weight Cast Iron rotor would be cool. I have the Axis rotors on my Multi and it would look cool with one of those.

Thread Jack: Does anyone know where to get CF belt covers for the Pantah?? I'm thinking about making my own since I now have 3 Pantah engined motos in my fleet. Never did it before but I'm willing to try....

Thank you all for the kind words and suggestions, much appreciated!

Main reason for getting her besides a "nice deal" and only 6037 miles was the minimalistic concept and light weight of this bike.

Maintenance I'll be doing:
valve check, belt tension check, plugs, wires, oil & filter, flush & refill brake and clutch fluids, set of Michelin Pilot Power tires and cleaning & polishing.
Modifications I'll be doing:
Galfer braided brake & clutch lines, Pazzo short levers, OEM clear windshield, K&N air filter, open airbox, "nice" exhaust (when I find and can afford it), open belt covers and some CF and billet trinkets ...

I'll post updated pics when done, as always suggestions, tips gladly accepted. :)

As a previous owner of a 750 SS (modell year 95) i would recomment at first one modification. The worthest part of the bike is the fork. The best is to replace the fork again the one off the 900 ss

Congrats!
Not to take any joy out it, but,
do check front of swing & frame around steering head f cracks.
Known to happen on that generation SS.
Just to b sure.

thats a great looking bike! its just screaming to be ridden. Im with everyone else - shes nearly perfect as she is, clean and to the point.

Speaking of upgrading exhausts: any opinions on a remus cans? i ask because a branch just moved into a warehouse a block from my house and they are offering specials - seems like as much as half-off on some products.

Again, thank you all for the kind words!
Going to definitively keep her on the simple, functional side.

Jetboy I sent you a PM regarding the Remus cans, interested, let me know.

This months issue of Cycle World had an article about aftermarket disc brakes. The BrakeTech ones look pretty nice, but so do the Galfers, the EBC, the W8less, and several others. Page 52.

Cheers,

Is there some more indication about the quality of those disc brakes?
Ciao
