fairing side panel nubs that plug into the gas tank

I just made one up for Kurt. I'm going to make another for him, and I can make a few more while I'm at it; how many people need these? I'm not that inclined to make a lot of them, but if I only have to make a dozen or so I'd be happy to do so.

My bike, of course, doesn't have the studs. I'm going to make another set with a 20mm pad that can be epoxied on. Not OEM, but I like the idea of having these panels snap onto the tank. Anyone interested in a set of these? I have no idea on cost, but they wouldn't be that expensive.

Thanks again, Sam!

Here again are the pics I posted last October:

Empty holes in bottom edge of tank where the grommets fit to take the "bullet" which is not illustrated or listed in the parts book. As you can see, I have one of two on that side. Note also chafing as described by Laddie907.

Inside of panel. The "bullet" threads onto stud which is glued into the panel.

The part # for the grommet is 036191730 if you need them.

Can I put my name down for a set please - are you happy to post to UK?

Can I fund this project for my parts via paypal?

Let know via a PM.

There should also be a rubber insert in tank.
At least I have it on my 907.

Hi Gert -- yes, I have since installed the rubber grommets, so I'll take new pics showing the grommets and also showing the piece that Sam made up today.

(The part # for the grommet is 036191730 if anyone needs them, my Duc dealer was able to order them for me no problem.)

EnglishStiv - you already have the studs and only need the part that screws on, right? Do you need all 4? PM me your address and I'll send something to you in the next few weeks.

For those like me that don't have the studs, it looks like this might be a little tricky, as the pads on at least my left rear side fairing do not necessarily line up with the holes in the tank. to fit them might take grinding the existing flat down so that they have a big, flat surface to glue to. If not, it's probable that they'll be halfway off the pad, which won't look too good and also might not hold well. So for now at least, I'm not going to make any of those.
