Hey guys,

George here. I am a newbie. I had a 907ie 3 years ago. I had scrimped and saved for years to buy it. I rode it for 2 weeks before the reg. rec. problems. I installed a new reg and battery to no avail. She still would not charge the battery. I did not know what else to try. I got fed up and sold the bike. Now I have discovered a 88 paso very cheap. This bike has had the tranny overhauled including replacing of 2nd gear. Has Fast by Ferracci pistons and Dell-ortos. She runs excellent acording to the owner (a ducati mechanic and racer for 17 years). He even is interested in trading for my 86 honda VFR. I have lusted after pasos since 1989 when I saw my first one. I have allways had a soft spot for the 750's. But,,,,,,,,,,,,I still worry about her not starting because of a overcharged/dead battery. I still worry about the reliability of the ducati. Should I ? or not ? thanks, george :screwy:

What they said ... sounds like the 907 might've been a fluke. Granted, the charging systems might not be the greatest - but I haven't had any problems with my '88 750.

Just buy it ... especially if it's a great deal. So what's a little elbow grease?

I really want the Paso, its just going to be hard to say "so long" to the VFR . I am going to need you guys for help if it breaks down. Thanks, george

Maybe you oughta keep the VFR ... nothing wrong with having multiple bikes I always say! :

I'm heading that way myself. I had to make the deal that I'd only have one motorcycle loan out at one time, otherwise I can populate the garage as much as I like.

Although, strangely, she nixed the Desmosedici idea ($60k USD) ...

Just make sure that 1 of those bikes in the garage belongs to her in doors! Get her riding thats what I did!!

Generally, you're only 'allowed' one woman on the go at a time, - my compensation for that was 12 bikes/ATVs in the shed at one stage of things.
Cured it by trading in bird on a better one........... Few less bikes now, but thats fine.........!!

Hey faster, I like the one loan at a time theory, I will gove it a go, I was going to sell the K100RS but as it owes me nothing I might keep it & start looking for that 750F1 I always wanted :lick:

red - so far, so good. I think I may have set the precedence by having two bike loans out when we first met. <wringing hands>My plan worked!</wringing hands> snicker. Now I just have to work on the loan ceiling. Although I think I'd have a tough time swallowing the $60k for the 'Sedici myself.

A friend of mine just sold his '87 F1 racer (went on ebay). Nice bike, indeed.

Hello Newbie, Had my 750 Paso for 4 weeks. Done 500 miles on her, and suprised at how well she's performed.

After the first 50 miles (or so) you get use to her little quirks, and she pretty much will reponds as you ask her too.

Additionally, considering most people told me its a specialist bike, am reasnably pleased at how reliable she's been. Allways starts when I want her too, and never let me down (so far). Overall the body seems well praportioned and she's great fun to ride. Wreckon I am lucky and got a good one: (Has been dry stored, and practicly spotlless)

My advice is; you should confirm the engine oil has been changed frequently (about every 1800 miles max) . Also, take of the seat off, and check the frame for rust and rot. (can be hidden under all that body). Finally don't expect to got the ease of use as you have with your VFR. She's gonna need a little extra tlc, to keep her well, but the up keep is not that difficult. (Espeicially if you refer to this sight: great support)

Buy it mate, you'll love it so much even the missus will be jelous of it. :funny:

Speaking of the Missus, if she likes to swing a leg over behind you she will love the Paso, long rides are not a problem My Missus referrs to the Paso as "My Mistress" but she is happy to let me ride especially if she is on the back. Now if only I can get her to agree to the loan thing I could get soemthing for those solo rides

My wife doesnt do motorcyles. I think I am going to keep the VFR and get the Paso as a "mistress" bike. george
