I'll be curious to see how much this bike goes for on Ebay. I paid $2500, plus shipping about a year ago for one with about 3,500 miles on it and spent another grand getting rid of the dry rot issues, new tires, battery, and tuneup/timing belts, etc. Now I have about 5,000 miles and it looks and runs great (but the gas gauge doesn't work). I was thinking of selling but don't think I can get my money back at $3500 to $4000 to break even.

I don't think you can go by just one eBay sale in trying to determine value. Besides, we're in this for the fun, not the money, right?!

Unfortunately, this is not true for all.

Well it certainly was fun to to take a bike that had been in storage since 1991 and put it back in tip top condition. I didn't do that thinking I would make a profit but I'm retired so if I decide to part with my Paso, I would at least like to break even.

Think you might need a little more than a Paso or two to trade for a rocket 3 at this point in time :(
Old rockets are like old bevel drive Ducati, they start at around 22k and go up from there depending on miles and how close to original they are.
I wish you luck

Beeza-3 -- nice, but I always liked the original '69 Triumph Trident, not as gaudy as the BSA. About 2 years ago I saw an eBay listing for a new 1969 BSA Rocket III with zero miles, for $30,000.
