Front Forks internal details?

Hi Guys
for those of you that have stripped these (odd, rare, strange, different - however you might want to view them!!) M1BB Marzocchi forks you will know by now that the internals are different to each other. I have rebuilt a fair number of forks and have nver seen this before. Suposedly one gives you rebound damping and the other pre damping - could not have been too successful as I'm sure we would have seen more?
Has anyone got a proper drawing of the internals - the drawings in the Ducati workshop manual are not accurate. And what weight oil is best?
Cheers Clive

on forks that don't have damping adjustments, the fork oil is your adjustment to dial in the damping. the best weight oil is the one that works best for you. I know you were looking for a short answer, but it just isn't that simple. Start with straight 10wt or 15wt, and then work from there. With all suspension tuning, there is the magic order of things;
1. correct spring rate.
2. adjust the sag by way of preload (cut and fit spacers)
3. Damping adjustment (compression and rebound)

Luckily, fork oil is cheap, so the best thing is to try it out.

Cheers,

take a look at the FAQs. You`ll find a link to the downloads and there`s a M1R service manual
