can anybody tell me the exact colour codes to wire this reg/rec to the original wiring because the new one has 5 cables and the old one has 7.

Well, start with what you know.
Here is the document from ElectroSport (Electrex)
http://www.electrosport.com/technical-r ... ctions.pdf
Yellow wires are from the alternator, Red and green to the battery, and white to the dash light.

Ground the case just to be safe. solder is better than any connector.

After that, I don't know what wires are attached to the original R/R. Have to get out the wiring shematic at that point.

Cheers,

I don`t have an Electrex regulator but according to the plan it`s:
Electrex to original wiring
yellow -> both pink (alternator)
yellow -> red (alternator)
white -> light blue (charging warning light)
red -> red/black & orange (battery +)
green -> black (battery -)
(the brown wire of the Paso wiring loom formely going to the regulator is not used any longer)

Note: If the measured voltage between the two yellow wires from the alternator (which are pink when they get to the regulator/rectifier) is between 50-100V you should wire the reg/rect as shown on the first picture of the instructions hence connect yellow 1 from the reg/rect to one yellow(pink) wire from the alternator and yellow 2 to the other. In this case the red wire from the alternator isn`t used and can be isolated. Install like this if the first wiring instructions don`t work. (To check simply connect a voltmeter to the battery. When the engine is started and the regulator/rectifier is connected correctly the voltage will increase i.e. from 12V to ca. 14V)

from the Paso wiring loom the brown formely going to the regulator is not used any longer.
Someone correct me if I`m wrong.

G.
