Are there an alu bushing that fits in the spring on each leg or only on one (the right, return) leg?

don't think so.
why you want alu? you can machine one or two. thats not so difficult.

Material not a corncern.
I had one in my right leg, none in left.
M manaul exploded view show one in each.
That`s what`s bothering me.

I think I have some as I swapped to White Power progressive spring without bushes.
I'll look tomorrow and measure the lenght just to be sure.

your last mail confused me a little.
I thought you mend the plastic bushing on top of the spring.
If you mean the bushes in the valve area, these are controlling the flow.
These are not available in aluminium of the shelf.
but if you copy them exactly in aluminium nothing goes wrong. Only you managed to lower the unsprung weight.

the damping function of the left and right leg are different as you know, therefore parts doesn't need the be in the left and the right leg.

I have also a '90 super sport, but after a few rounds on the Assen race track I disliked the Marzocchi M1BB front fork. one of the things to improve it was replacing these bushes by aluminium ones. this one change didn't affect the behavior of the fork. Later I sold this fork and swapped to Öhlins FG43 incl. radials.

I don't think this helps you much, but it's all I have at the moment

The manual I saw had one bushing on the lower end of spring on both legs, therefore my question,
mine has only one on the right leg spring. But maybe that is the way it should be?

according to my manual there are ferrules under the spring of each leg.
these look like small parts were the spring rests on.
in the damper unit there are bushes, which controls the flow.
they are item # 37 in the manual. and the ferrules are # 43 for the RH leg and #43A for the left leg.
So, I think you need two of them.

I had one in each of the forks on my 750 Paso. Here are the forks disassembled. You can see the spacer in the upper right corner of each picture....

Seems like you also has one as I have. It is in the left compression leg, right?

I just took my 907 forks apart and there is indeed only one spring seat on the left fork leg, which is the compression side. The right side, the spring sits on the top of the damper rod.

Ah...I see, now. I thought you were talking about the spacers that are under the cap.
