Hello,
I made the change to the Kokusan ignition systemm I am looking for the newer two pickup flywheel. Does anyone know which flywheels are compatible with a 1990 750 sport. There is a 900 ss flywheel currently on ebay. Just wondering about compatibility?
Thanks
Joe

900ss flywheel will work.
You may have to swap the flywheel holder if it is an early Paso with a coarse spline flywheel hub.

of course it should be from a carbed 900SS not a SSie

Do you have a 6-spline or multi-spline crank on yours?
750 Paso cank-flywheel works w Kokusan.
I would download spare parts list f various models fr years like yours.
There are several parts that need to match,
f e w another flywheel, starter gear/sprag may be different.
Alternator is another issue.

I hope I don`t start any confusion, but my P750 is a 86 and an aftermarket flywheel intended for Supersport/Monster fitted perfectly. There was just one thing. There were some bolts that needed to be changed. I don`t really remember if they were the bolts from the flywheel or if there were some below the flywheel. I only remember my dealer telling me these needed to be changed with newer ones with a flatter had otherwise they would touch. So be careful and turn over the engine by hand before starting it.

OK, all should be fine w that flywheel then.
I just had some experience where f e different starter gears weren`t interchangeable
even between 900`s and 600 don`t fit 900 etc.

Hello All,
I have a related question on the kokusan flywheel. There are serveral flywheels post 1998 on ebay. But I cannot find any pre 1998 flywheels. I have the 4 pickup flywheel.
What would be the feasibility of milling off the two upper pick-up points and leaving the two lower pickup points on the flywheel (as show in the maintenance manual when the #1 cylinder is at tdc)
I can locate another 4 pick-up point flywheel from a paso.
I have been running the 4 pickup point flywheel with the kokusan ignition and I think this could be causing my high speed bog.
Thanks
Joe

note the flywheel is balanced so removing parts will unbalance it causing vibration and some damage sooner or later.

I have 2 pre -98 flywheels f Kokusan to sell. Where are you located?
Do you have 6 spline or multispline crank?
Milling would need rebalancing to work as Gerhard states.

Hello Tabmurinfan
I have the 6 spline crank.
You can PM me with the price and shipping. I have a bid on a flywheel that paso750 found on ebay. If it does not go through I will more than likely purchase one from you.
Thanks
Joe

Hello All,
I changed out the old flywheel with the new one I purchased on ebay and that fixed my high speed miss.
So the Kokusan ignition change out was successful.
After all of the troubleshooting I went through it was really nice to get the bike running properly.
So I decided to tear it completely down and clean it up.
I did read a bit of interesting article on guzzitech.com on proper testing of the dual pickups.
Here is the link:

I will be posting some pics of my progress.
Thanks
