Trim under headlight

Post by Colonial Boy »

Would anyone be able to post a clear close-up photo of the trim recessed under the headlight please? This is missing from my 906 and as I have just had it repainted I need to finish it off properly. The chances of me finding one here in New Zealand are probably nil so I will have to either buy from overseas or fabricate something.

Many thanks in advance!

Have you tried buying new ? You could be surprized . I just got 2x Lh and 2 x Rh blinker lenses and a tail light lens and 2 of them plastic chain guide things that fit on swing arm and foot peg rubbers.I am thinking of making a twin headlight thing just to preserve the original as I couldnt find one of them ( not even in Oz )
where are you in NZ , Im in Nelson

Hi Hamish. Good to hear from another Kiwi on here! I'm in Central Hawkes Bay. I haven't tried new. Who did you go through to get your parts? Could be interested in blinker lenses - are they the same as SS?

I thought about making mine twin headlight too but want to keep it original. I think I will cut a piece of perspex or similar to make a cover instead.

Cheers, Ron.

Ive just had a look at this piece of trim and its nothing more than a bit of flat black plastic the same shape as the hole , with a raised ridge ( about 3mm ) length wise down the middle , and two stud looking things sticking out the back to mount it . I think that if you made one from a bit of black plastic , without the original next to it no one would know.If you want a pix I can e-mail ( having probs with photobucket, ham.di@xtra.co.nz ). I get my ducati stuff from Filco farm and sport ( 035472420 ), ask for Sebastian ( Sebbie ). I think they get there stuff thru Eurobike but they wont sell to the public. Your local bike shop will know them . And I dont think the blinker lenses are the same as the SS. I have also had sucsess with Gowanloch ducati in oz ( google it up as I have lost the #)Troy is the parts guy there
good luck

I want one too! It really sharpens up the frontal look of the Paso. Just a thought that you would need to be careful which way it dips if buying off ebay. In the mean-time I will advertise here for the trim in case anyone has a spare.

Thanks all, CB

The mesh grill is standard on the P750.
