Hi everyone,
Here are some shots of the assembly and the completed bike. This was a complete tear-down right to the crankshaft. My Paso had low miles but suffered from neglect (and weather) in the hands of the previous owner. I may write a full description of the issues and what was done if anyone is interested - let me know. I guess you agree that the 907 isn`t always the easiest to work on....

What color of gold did you use on the valve covers? I had mine rebuilt about a year ago by Ducshop in Atlanta. Balanced and blueprinted, new valve gears, new bearings, crank polished, heads flowed (what little they had to do) , valves, guides, the works. Pulls really hard now and the starter has problems turning the motor over.

I spose it all depends on your circumstances. For the last 10 years all our homes have been provided by my employer and I dont get a whole lot of choice about them . We have NO kids ( fuck that ! ) so if there is little or no garage a bedroom gets commandered. While I have stored bikes in the lounge I dont work on them there ( much ) I think that me ballancing carbs while she is trying to watch corro would be to much even for my girl.
I once ( ) did a tyre blowing burnout in the kitchen/ living area ....... and ....well ..Id have been better off going to war than facing that bit of music. New lino and some wallpaper and it took ages for the smell to go away and we were finding bits of rubber months later , even I can see the sense of not doing that again, although I have to say the look on her face when she got home ( not totally stupid ) was priceless

du907: The gold I used on the valve covers is just local hardware store metalic paint - nothing special.
persempre907: Good eye mate! I didn't completely rebuild it in the dining room. Most of the work was done in the basement over the winter. I did the assembly of the cleaned and restored components in the dining room over a week or two of evenings. Everything was clean and ready to go before I started assembly. The wife is a good sport even if she would rather see me sell the bikes. There were two Ducatis in the dining room when she met me 12 years ago - a Pantah 600 and my 750 GT.
I will add more details when I get time.

I will be there but likely with my '96 SP as it is my track bike. We pit at the east end of the parking lot inside corner 1. Come by and say hello! My bike is #23.

Lloyd, despite the fact it seems you`re missing one center stand spring, where did you find the reflectors for the fork ?
The missing rubber cover for the swingarm axle is the same as the one on the upper triple tree btw.

Not all the wives; I have the opposite problem - my wife won't let me sell any of my bikes! And every time I want a new one she's the first one to tell me to buy it. Last week I picked up a beautiful Yamaha TY80 trials bike for my kid - with her blessing!

Funny, that attitude only applies to motorcycles. I mentioned a boat recently, she mentioned a divorce.
