I won this bike £920 i thought it was a good price  , but when i aranged to pick it up i was told it was not ready as it was still being MOT'd  even though he said it was at the mot on the 4th and i won it on the 10th and was going to pick it up on the 15th and it was still being mot'd  . i dont know about you but my MOT's normaly take about 20 mins not 11 days .
He was due to call me on the 15th to say if it was ready but did not  .
I told the seller that i no longer wanted the bike as he could not say when i could pick it up , so buyer beware if you see this bike for sale on ebay

sorry to see that happen motojohn but oh so typical of ebay, do you think he wanted more? From what I've seen you paid a fair upper level price for what is a grey import, I suspected he might be a dealer offloading a few toys?

Good luck with the new search?

winning an ebay auction results in a binding contract with all the rights and duties. If you really want it you can legally force him to hand it over. Did the guy say why it took so long? I think 1,5 weeks is still within limits if he`s a private person. If so he might lack the time or maybe the bike didn`t pass and needs some work before trying again, who knows. I personally wouldn`t give up so easy unless there`s another good option right at hand.

To add to what G has said, Ebay these days is very proactive. If you still want the bike give them a call, you will find they will bend over backwards to lend you assistance in completing the deal.

the guy just could give me an answer of when i could have it , the bike was being advertised with 12 months mot and it did not have it . he did tell me after i said that i did not want the bike the the only problem was with the headlight  but who knows what else could have been wrong with it and it cost me to cancell the van to pick it up ,so i did the best thing and said no thank you . I have a 900 paso and thought it would be nice to have a 750 as well , i will just keep on looking for the right one :)

The worst thing about ebay now is that you cannot leave suitable feedback to warn other users of how bad a bad seller is nowadays it's either positive or nothing, I am also getting fed up with ebay consatntly pulling an auction half way through because I have used an "illegal" word or phrase suggesting I have a multiple item for sale!!!! I also sold a boat on there and had to go through a disclaimer that I wasn't selling an illegal or fraudulent item so they must have allowed a load of sailing gear go through thear auctions in the past knowing that folk have sold stolen or illegal items.

I have now started using other auction sites to sell as it's just too expensive and too many idiots are now at there bidding.

As for ebay being proactive well they ain't in the UK infact you have to fight and go through hurdles just to get your sellers fee back let alone the cash or recompense from the opposite party involved.

But, I think ebay is still one of the most effective websites to buy from.
Its feedback system will not to be perfect, no matter says something about the seller.

up for sale again. Strange is it says MOT expiration date June 2011 and in the text "The bike will have a full 12 months MOT" which to me sounds as if it wasn`t MOTed yet.

It looks OK doesn't it but these days you have to look at the finer details. The number plate shape/cut would make me ask questions, I'd think he is a trader. Only got an offer of £460 at the moment, what does he want?
I had a dealer do his best to sell me a 750 Paso a few weeks ago, very clean bike and the paint was just super, really the best I had seen for a long while. Wanted £1500 for it, which I didn't think was a bad price for what is an enthusiasts machine but there was something bothering me about the bike and it didn't click until a day later. The rear swingarm had been swapped for a Kawasaki GPZ eccentric adjusted unit! I refused to buy the Paso anyway, not because it wasn't worth it but because I already had one...

Motojohn should keep an eye on it. I imagine the reserve is what he offered for it before or lower which means he might get it a bit cheaper this time, the bonus is that if it's someone looking afresh at it they might just punch ducati paso into bing or google, etc and find this thread???

I reckon it's a dealers toy or a trade in.
