Guys
Thought I would share this with you,I have recently bought a 1989 900ss to add to my collection of Ducs, this being bike number 6.The first bike I bought was my 907 and hence this started the on going marriage to the ducati family.I have spent money on the 907 over the years and she is now as good as ever(won best bike and best Desmo at DOC GB rally last year)She is now showing 19000 miles on a H registration (1990 in Britain)
Any way back to the point as with all second hand Ducs when bought its advisable to go for the ones with loads of paperwork and with this there was a load of paper work about the bike(900 ss)and work done on it by previous owners sales brochures and stuff. There was also half a dozen bike magazines from around 1989-1994 :-P So couple of days ago Im reading Performance Bike dated August 1991come to article six page spread heading of Euro Vision Bike Contest between a Moto Guzzi Le Mans V, Ducati 900ss(half faired 1990) a BMW K1 and a Ducati 907.Loads of pictures and write ups on all bikes then I think to myself Im sure I know that reg on the 907 yeah its mine showing three thousand miles then.
With out buying the 900ss I would never of known about article and oh yeah she did very well in write up !!!!!!
Made up you bet
Cheers and sorry if I went on a bit.

Yes, that is a really nice example. If I can get mine looking something like that, I will be very happy.
I've just acquired a hydraulic lift recently, so perhaps I can get on with it now.

The number plates are ridiculous over here, and the police do persecute motorcyclists who fit 'non- standard' plates, sometimes to the extent of measuring it with a tape just to prove it is 'otherwise than in accordance with Road Traffic Act abc1234xyz' etc, etc. :(

That's why we have the 2nd amendment. So they can't do things like that.
But, they keep trying, depending on who gets elected. Big changes are a com'in.

Guys thanks for all replies
Yeah unfortunatley the cops are pretty heavy over here on down sizing number plates on bikes normally a £60.00 fine and a lecture.
Dont know what they will do when as has been talked about in Motorcycle News that our government are looking at ways of catching speeding motorcyclist- thinking of bikes having taggable microchips put in all number plates
Mind you we already have police aeroplanes tracking bikers who then are in comms with patrol cars to stop any one giving it gas,
Cheers Timbo

Stolen from a post by Englishtiv, it's so true

This is the world we live in now..........................if you are British that is

Question:
How do you tell the difference between a UK Police Officer, an Australian
Police Officer and an American Police Officer?

Answer:
Pose the following situation:
THE SCENARIO

You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children.
Suddenly, a dangerous looking man with a huge knife comes around the corner,
locks eyes with you, screams obscenities,
and raises the knife and charges.

You are carrying a Glock .40, and you are an expert shot.
You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family.
What do you do?'

UK Police Officer's Answer:

1) Well, that's not enough information to answer the question!
2) Does the man look poor or oppressed?
3) Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to
attack?
4) Could we run away?
5) Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife
out of his hand?
6) What does the law say about this situation?
7) Does the Glock have appropriate safety built into it?
Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of message
does this send to society and to my children?
9) Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me?
10) Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content just to
wound me?
11) If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away
while he was stabbing me?
12) Should I call 9-9-9?
13) Why is this street so deserted?
14) We need to raise taxes, have a paint-and-weed day and make this
a happier, healthier street that would discourage such behaviour?
15) If I raise my gun and he turns and runs away; do I get blamed
when he falls over running away, knocks his head and kills himself?
16) If I shoot him, and lose the court case, does he have the
opportunity to sue me, cost me my job, my credibility and I will
lose my family home?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Australian Officer's Answer:

1) BANG!

----------------------------------------------------------------------

American Officer's Answer:

1) BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

Click....(sounds of reloading)

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!!!!!!!!!!!

Click.

Daughter: “Nice grouping, Dad! Were those the Winchester Silver Tips?
Son: "Can I shoot the next one Dad?"
Wife: "I'll call the taxidermist "
