thanks to gerhard in southern germany my 906 is now equiped with the ignition switch it needed and tomoro morning bright and early i,ll be firing her up and going for a ride through the sussex downs and along the coast before the traffic builds up to much. can't wait. lets hope for a good long indian summer so we can ride and ride.
now then. as it gets darker earlier these days im reminded of my headlight. its pretty poor to say the least. I NEED AN UK HEADLIGHT FOR MY PASO TO REPLACE THE EUROPEAN ONE I HAVE AT THE MO. THEN I NEED A BULB UPGRADE AS I LOVE THE A AND B ROADS ALL AROUND SUSSEX AND WOULD PREFER SOME HEADLIGHT POWER. anyone got a headlight unit they wanna sell and any suggestions about improved bulbs at all?
AND SOME MOT LEGAL SILENCERS WOULD BE NICE FOR A DAY OR TWO

any ideas or suggestions greatly appreciated. like what pipes will fit and do the job?
AND WHAT ABOUT THE TYRES? ARE THE AVONS ANY GOOD? ANYTHING ELSE THAT DOES NOT NEED MODIFICATIONS TO THE BIKE BUT DOES THE JOB? please advise. THANKS. norman

Norman,
get yourself a Koito headlight from a Yamaha FZ. It`s said to be a bit better and it`s definetely cheaper.
Then clean the inside of the headlight (
http://forums.ducatipaso.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2723 ) and measure the voltage that gets to it. It may be less than 12-14V. You can add a relay to improve that.
If you take a high power bulb don`t get one that`s too strong as it will get hotter also to the point it can damage the headlight (bulb holder) as it`s all plastic.
Regarding the exhaust can`t you use db killer inserts ?
G.

thanks for your reply. i hve inserted baffles into the boscat silencers and they've slightly reduced the decibles (still sounds lovely) the only problem is these silencers are stamped "not for road use."
i think most MOT testers look for an approval stamp. my friendly tester has gone abroad so i'm having to use a fresh man. if he fails the silencers it goes on the record on the computor and this i want to avoid. what ducati silencers from other models fit and work well on the paso? i can hunt some down. the original silencers would do for MOTday if i could find some but they are not my first choice for every day use. an upgrade pair of silencers from another model or manufacturer would be great if they work and look good on the bike and were road legal. my bike is mainly black with gold lower down and white decal. a respray by the original owner that still looks great. i will investigate the headlight option you describe as that sounds pretty good. i ride a lot of unlit country roads.,my prefered roads. thanks for the advice gerhard. as soon as i can manage to upload some pictures i will.

There is a guy getting round here on a paso which has had the standard pipes gutted and re fitted with ( the tried and trusted ) perforated tube and fibreglass packing. Real cunning

as the outer rear most part of the muffler now unscrews for repacking , and you can hardly see the joint, AND it still has all the nice writing on the outside for the tester to see.
