Mike,

It sounds like you have made a complete recovery from that syndrome that you were suffering from (sorry, can't remember its name).

Mike, I was so sorry to see this morning that the race itself was such a ridiculous non-event. I guess the States is in many ways such a tolerant society that only there would some people figure on getting away with such a thing. If they tried something like that in a few other places, there would not be much left of the facilities at the end.

Just as well you went and got the whole deal. I've no doubt that you enjoyed most of USGP 2005. I feel really sorry for those people who went only for the race.

I heard about the races ... 14 racers out because FIA wouldn't allow their tire change? Only 6 started? eesh ... Nice going, FIA; almost sounds like they don't want to see races in America.

I'm sure it was still a good time, in all, regardless ... looking forward to more & more pictures, Mike. ;)

well, porsche supercup was exciting

Image

as was the recon lap

Image

and then the start

Image

i took one more picture, and then we left. today we visited the museum

Image

and rode the bus around the track

Image

and then i drove to decatur, alabama. tomorrow i will visit the barber motorsports museum. there should be many cool photos tomorrow (or whenever i can get on wifi)

am i mad? at michelin, yes... for writing a letter that spooked the teams.
at the teams? kind of, for they could have run a safe race by operating the tires provided at a safe speed. in no way should bridgestone teams be penalized when michelin provided an inferior product. having an inferior car or setup is a fact of racing and separates the rest of the field from the winners.

oh well. at least i got to witness a piece of history. . :sly:

You're going to Barber, too? You really taking the grand tour, aren't you? Now I'm really jealous. I'm dying to get down to Barber, if just for the Museum. Can't wait to see those pictures!

Myself, I'll just have to settle for the Vintage Days at Mid-Ohio instead. The Paso will be joining me ... ;)
