nice bikes there Rhino, I can see you've refrained yourself from adding stickers to your original '92 907,
At least you managed to post your pictures

Thanks guys
I've only just bought both of them at auction (last sunday on the phone) and had them both delivered to Wales.
I have never actually seen them much less had a chance to add stickers (over my dead body!)
Sad or what

looks like you've done well, both low mileage, I dont think I could buy used machinery without a thorough inspection first...unless of course the price is too good to refuse...hopefully with a bit of TLC you should be on the road soon, dont let the age fool you, the 907 is still a very capable and enjoyable bike, takes me a few days to wipe the smile off my face after a nice day riding

Yes, Rhino. Two very nice Dukes
So what's the story here? What made you decide on these two?
For me it was fond memories of a 750GT and wanting something a little off the beaten path

I was going to go to Wales today where the bikes will live (from my home in London) to see them 'till some b'staad in a 55 seater coach wrote off my merc (with me in it) by rear-ending me. If I'd been on a Duke . . .
Guess what the numb nuts said - yeah that's right - "I'm sorry mate I didn't see you were turning there." Ton and a half of silver Merc estate. Whiplash and VERY VERY p*ssed off. I can't go see my "new" bikes. I could bloody cry. Probably just get drunk instead.
Git shunted me 5 feet - if I hadn't had my foot on the brake it would have been curtains for the pack of pedestrians (on the pedX!) I had stopped for . . .
I bought the Paso because I used to have a 750 Paso - and still miss it - and the 916s was a whim. I've never seen one in the flesh and it's a one owner bike. Apparently Ducati only ever built 200 of the 916s and it has a letter from the factory to say so . . .. It has just had a full Ducati dealer service and has a FSH from new - all 2,800 miles of it. The 907's had 1 owner and done 1,900 miles. They'll both need a complete re-commisioning I guess. Stickers - no. Race tracks - no. I'm too old for all that. Me? Lie? But officer . . . I'm a lawyer - you can trust me . . .
If you want to know - and to save you looking it up on Bonhams web site as I would - I paid, including commission and vat etc, £3,200 for the 907ie and £7,600 for the missile. Top money for the 907 and strong money for the 916 I'd say; but it all comes down to: 'do I regret it?'
No (not yet anyway).
Looking forward to getting back on - hell it's been nearly 25 years . . .
Apologies for the rant - ride safe,

I wonder where that info comes from. Is it an SPS ? And even if there were about 1.500 made.

Hi Guys
Still have not yet managed to get to Wales BUT the other side's insurer (Aviva) have admitted liability - Yahoooooo. Every litigation lawyers dream - am I right Francesco?
Anyway - thanks for your sentiment Normannnnnn
Francesco and Paso 750 I was told by the auctioneers that there were only 200 916S built and they had a letter to prove it - for what that's worth. It should be with the bike in my garage - if I ever get to see it of course.
The frame number is 2DM 916S 001541 don't know if that means anything to you more technical guys out there
Personally I neither know nor care how many there were I just fancied it and bought it and live in the so far misguided belief that one day I'll get to see the damn thing - let alone ride it.
Ride safe guys (or get a good lawyer!!)

Brilliant - if I'm not mistaken the link provided by Paso 750 confirms that Ducati built 199 of the 916S in 1994
Thanks Paso 750
