Hello everybody,
I need heed your help, I just picked up a 1988 Paso
The motor turns over but it wont start. I checked it seems to have spark and compression, it has been sitting for a couple of years the fuel pump is working and I tried starting fluid and it seemed to cough one time.
Any ideas? I am going to pull the tank and see if if I can get anywhere by checking out the carb.

If you pull the tank off, first of all, try to put some drop of fuel (just 2 or 3) in the throttles and start:
You'll soon know if it's a carb trouble

Even though it`s tempting do not start the bike! If it sat for years change the belts first. What you do is risking an engine damage.
Then drain all the old fuel from tank, carbs and lines and fill it up with fresh fuel. It may be that your carbs need cleaning, too as old fuel can cause sediments on the carb specially the float chamber.
