Does anyone know if 907ie rims will fit on a Paso 750. I am interested in moving to 17" rims and I am trying to get ideas on how to source new rims.

please try the search function. 17" conversions were discussed several times. You will also find infos in the download section.
It`s possible, but it requires modifications.

edit:
Paso 750 with Original 16" rear wheel:
1) Rear axle is 20mm in diameter
2) Rear wheel bearings are SKF #63004-2RS1 with measurements of 20x42x16mm.

Paso 750 with early Ducati rim for 17mm axle:
1) Rear axle is 20mm in diameter
2) Rim's original bearings are SKF #62203-2RS1 with measurements of 17x40x16mm
3) The ideal bearing would be 20x40x16, but no such bearing exists through SKF or other manufacturer.
4) The closest available bearing is SKF #63004-2RS with measurements of 20x42x16.
5) The hub will have to be machined from 40mm OD to 42mm OD to accept the new bearing
6) New spacers with an ID of 20mm will need to be made for the hub of the rim and the sprocket carrier

There is also the issue of the brakes. The 907 wheels are basically the same as the SS wheels and Monster wheels.

Thanks for the info everyone. So it looks like in order to do a swap to 17" wheels I would need to address the following:

* Source the 17" wheels
* Sort the bearing issues out
* Raise the front mudguard
* Lengthen the chain
* Source rotors
* Relocate calipers

I was hoping to find a step by step complete conversion walk through with detailed part info and required modifications. I have searched here quite a few times and have never found a thread that I felt comfortable following. I am going to need new rubber this spring and was tring to decide between going with the Avon tires that Ducati Germany has recommended, or doing a permanent fix by moving to 17" wheels. Jury is still out.

You don't have to change bearings on the front wheel, as the forks already accept the 17mm axle.

But on the rear you have to.
There`s some info in my download thread on top of this forum. For a 17" conversion there`re several parts you need to get made.

in my opinion..... keep the 750 original as possible..... ie 16" inch wheels with more recent rubber.... then buy another ducati if you must have 17" wheels. :thumbup: :cool: :)

My investigation of 17" rims is not due to my desire to have 17" rims on a Paso. My investigation is to try and find a ongoing way to keep my Paso rolling. I am going to order up some recommended 16" tires. Thanks everyone for your comments.

Always the debate when dealing with classic bikes.
Should I upgrade and modify to keep it relatively current, Or do I keep the design intent and acknowledge the period that it was built?

If its a lovely stock bike in the first, keep it stock.
If the bike is already bastardized, keep going.

Cheers,
Phil

I agree but I gotta say that I havn't seen another 16" tyre that looks as good as the 60 profile tyres . That ( even more than the fully faired look ) is what caught my eye when I saw my 1st paso, those cool fat little tyres :)

Really, the best thing I can tell you is that I have no more trouble with that damned Weber carb...
Even if I also was caught by the 750 look...
