Rebuilding my 907 ST3

Post by JoKing »

Hi Folks,

i am going to upload some pictures of my current project.
Some of you know, that i made a ST3-Engine-conversion several years /10tkm ago.
But i never touched Frame/Fairing and the wiring is a catastrophe.
So i decided to rebuild it from the smallest screw.

@First: I am not a pro. I am learning by doing. So i may make many faults. And i am very curious, if i will be successfull.

In this thread i am going to post some pictures and comments. Maybe some of you have some useful hints for me :phone:

So, thursday a got the frame back from the paintshop:
Image
The guys made a good job, i think.

The engine got new belts, spark plugs, oil+filter & and i used cans of brake-cleaner & engine-cleaner, but now it looks decent  (in original it looks better than on the pic)
The valves have been adjusted as well. Total mileage of the engine at this moment: approx. 13tkm. Clutch: 7tkm, so it needed no work.

Well, there are no big problems.
I fitted the engine into the frame some years ago.
There were some milling issues on the engine case, but all minor things.
The electrics will be 50/50 907/St3.

Ha. You got my weak point. (one of them)

I don`t know.
I managed to implement the mechanic of the ST3-Revcounter into the 907 dashboard.
Looks 99% original (only the finger is different, because from ST3).

But i never got it working before.
Maybe i get it working with the new wiring-tree i hope to manage...

thanks. I`m not interested in the footpeg mounts but the rear end of the frame. Yours has that "extensions" that the P750 frame does not have. As the rear fairings are the same that frame must be shorter. I wonder why Ducati did that ...

I was thinking to make something similar with a second Paso.
But buy an other 907, the Engine, USD Fork, Wheels., Brakes... I think to buy me a 851 or 888 is the cheaper way
