I've started the work to get my black 907 back on the road and I have noticed an oddity.
This is what the top of the fork tube looks like on my remaining red bike:
and this is what the black bike has:
Anyone have any ideas why the difference?

the only that pops into my mind is that the grip of the knurled surface is better, meaning that if you didn't torq the yoke-bolts properly the leg doesn't slide through the yoke that easy.

That would make sense. I want to know why this one of the three 907's I have owned is the only one with this. Does anybody else have it?

The original forks from my 907 have the knurling on them. It's also a black bike.

Its an easy thing to do.............with the proper equipment, not sure its needed as it will add an extra path for salt and water to do its dastardly deed

I have a set of 907 forks that have the knurling. The brake bosses are for a 300 mm rotor, not the 320 rotors.
Bought them off e-bay, so don't know what color bike they came from. (they are going on my 750 Sport project bike)
