hello there,

for about one week there is strange noise coming from the clutch gasket.
(and I am not saying about that lovely dry clutch sound :) )

at the beginning, noise appears when the clutch handler was not pressed
(and when I pressed clutch handler - noise dissapeared)

but now it appears quite often.

I took off clutch gasket, and the center "screw" is easly rotating.
(by the "screw" I mean the thing selected in red ;)

(its not my clutch, just found a photo)

as far as I rememer it shouldnt rotate?

(it can be easly rotate by hand, and gives that bad noise)

some grease should be enought or should it be replaced?

regards

Greg

That`s not a Paso engine/clutch. That looks like the pressure plate from a SS/Monster engine with the clutch piston on the left engine side. In that case the marked part has to rotate as that`s the bearing.
If you have an original Paso motor/clutch the center part is fix with the pressure plate and does not turn. For that there is the bearing in the clutch piston/cover.

thank G for fast answer,

yes, I think that I have oryginal clutch
(but I`ll take a photo tomorrow to make sure)

so it means that marked part shouldnt rotate, so...
how to repear it? ;)

Undo your 6 pressure plate bolts (a little bit each at a time),the plate and pin will just lift out,if you turn it over you should see that the 2 or three little spot welds have broken. They don't weld them fully to avoid buckling the plate.grind them off and get them re done. J

I recently solved a screeching sound from the clutch by cleaning and lubricating the bearing in the cover with a bit of WD40 and a bit of grease (not too much!!). By the way: this is how a PASO clutch looks and sounds like:

(i made a little video of my clutch )
