Hey Andrew, it's a factory built copy of the 1965 Carol Shelby AC Cobra, it's a Backdraft Racing Cobra built around 2014 I think but is new never registered, fibreglass body, there's been many kit cars copying the AC ever since it's design, not many factory built replicas, a present to myself after nearly 40 years of my trade waha. Hope alls good over there and your bikes all sorted, atleast covid seems to be dying out.
That's awesome and well deserved. Are you going to register it.
Things have settled down for the moment. With a bit of luck I'll be able to get over to Perth to visit my young fella now. I'm going to the superbikes then Tassie in November and was going to sneak in a ride to WA in between now and then but thinking winter in WA and south might be a bit cold?.
A friend is the Australian distributor for these cars and we have a specific list of small items to engineer/ pass liscenceing, the plan is to liscence for this coming summer. It is definitely starting to get colder over here now mate but a road trip on a bike all that way would be pretty bloody awesome I wreckon, good luck I hope that works out for you.
Mate if you do get over here you're more than welcome to drop in and have a beer or coffee and a face to face catch up for sure. What bike would you do that trip on mate?
Sounds like covid got you pretty good, guessing you will be back up and running now mate, my bike has stalled again as I have right shoulder surgery tomorrow arrgghhh, can't win a trick lately, left shoulder surgery when this one's healed a bit so some months off any type of work , hows your 750 going, and hopefully your road trip is on track
Hi Andrew, just looking through your thread on the 750 and remembered you were coming over to wa, mate pm me if you end up in Northern suburbs Perth and get the chance to swing by, hows the mirrors on the 750 ?I deleted the original mirror location holes on mine, so I'll be looking at similar/maybe same as yours. I had that style on my s3 guzzi and they were great.
I actually have a really nice set of original mirrors which I may use , I can easily relocate them. Tbh I want to see how it looks which I suspect will be better but I'm pretty sure they'll work better on the bars.
I even have a nice set of the next gen 900ss mirrors which I think I've seen on these bikes but located lower and look nice so I want to start from scratch.
Hi,
I've been busy riding a lot lately and haven't had the 750 out for a while. I just got back from riding around Tassie then spent another 8 days riding off road in the Victorian High Country.
I found the bar ends that I put on to be average but worked ok. They were only cheap. I would like to put some Napolean bar ends on.
At this stage it's not looking good getting to WA. The young fella looks like come back east just after Chrissie. He's just bought his first road bike, an MT07. I can't wait to go riding with him.
All sounds good mate , The Napoleon mirror is a real classic style and should work well. Glad to hear you're getting lots of rides in. The right shoulder is coming good and left due in the next few weeks.
