Some times ago Extra260 asked me some info about my modified windscreen, so at last I decided to post some photos of it. So here it is my modified windscreen, made of a curved transparent plexiglass (don't know exactly its origin...):

As you can see it offers slightly better air protection than the original one, but the front sunlight often makes the instruments unreadable...
It's fixed with 6 screw, here are some details:

Luca,

A very nice mod but sorry to hear about the clocks being unreadable in direct sunlight! It really does 'open' up the front of the bike.

I noticed that my clocks, (and warning lights), were barely visible, (in dim light), and the entire dash is currently in my shed awaiting further inspection!

I will check to ensure there is no 'on board' regulator for the lights and, if not, may consider a slight mod to improve visibility.

Of course my battery could have just been low!

Still this is some way off the agenda at the moment!

I have, finally, commenced the diary, (Tales of Woe), so do take a look at my various battles against rust, corrosion and other negative factors!

It may take me some time!

Martin, the instrument lights are poor, replacing the instrument bulbs with brighter is a good & easy fix. I think standard is 3w & can easily be replaced with 5 or 7 watt bulbs.

Thanks for the info, (I will certainly upgrade the wattage if the standard illumination is poor, (as long as I don't melt the perspex)!

Refurbing the 'clocks' will be one of those 'pleasurable' items that I am looking forward toi, (as with that super carb), I really must get out more - but I do!!

Incidently, the 916 went towards my 999R although I REALLY regret selling her now as she was in pristine condition and we had been through a lot together!

I am very impressed with Luca's screen mod and may consider something similar at the closing stages of the project, (when my Paso becomes an ornament)!

Must get some sleep!
