A bit of a plug.

Afternoon all.

Just thought I would throw in a plug for a company I got some parts and tools from.

The company is called EMS, web site http://www.emsduc.com/ They deal in Valve shims and tools to complete the job. I purchased the 8mm kit, the 8mm rocker holder (for the closer shims), the normal half rings and the depressor tool. After pulling the bike to bits, I have replaced all 4 closers (and half rings) and all 4 openers with the EMS units, and the quality is obvious. The original Ducati parts flopped around the valve stem. The EMS units were a nice fit. The shims replaced worked out at about half the cost of what Mr Ducati wanted. Mike at EMS posted the day after purchase and they were in NW Oz within a week and a bit.

Oh, and whoever thought of the ear plug in the oil gallery trick, give yourself a pat on the back. I dropped only 1 of the half rings, and it fell smack in the mddle if the ear plug. If it wasn't there, it would have been a hole in one to the sump!

Cheers.

Nick.

Indeed Mike is a nice guy, and fair reasonable rider too. I've had the good fortune of riding with him from time to time over the past years. Met a time or two at Laguna Seca, and at the annual ST gathering called Madness. A good upstanding fellow and Ducati rider making better parts for bikes, mostly because he can, and he cares. A second thumbs up for his product.

Cheers, Phil

Yeah, totaly agree, can't say enough about his improved collets  .
Spoke to a few ducati "technitions' here in NZ and they had no idea
about these and they couldn't grasp the idea that it is a huge improvement
over the original setup, why the factory don't do this?
