My 88 Paso clutch bleed nipple at the clutch case is stripped. Need a new one. Is it a standard thread? Can I source one from the Honda store down the block or from the Ducati dealer re: other models? Anyone know how specific this part is to our Pasos?
Thanks

Is it the nipple or the hole it screws into that's stripped ? . If its the hole your in the shit . However you decide to recover the thread the new thread must line up perfectly as the pointed end of the bleed nipple must line up with the nipple seat at the bottom of the hole.
A way around this ( and I wish I had thought of this before I chucked out the brembo caliper Fraser gave me ) is to helicoil the hole part way down, cut the pointed end off the nipple and then cut a small slice off the end about 2-3mm long so you have a small disc that will drop down the nipple hole ( don't do that just yet ). Cut a small slot in the end of the shortened nipple , now drop a ball bearing down the hole ( size doesn't matter to much as long as it fits down the hole ) followed by the disc and then screw the shortened nipple in. The ball seals the hole at the bottom , and is self aligning , the disc holds the ball down and the slot in the end of the nipple provides path for the fluid to flow to the hole in the center of the nipple when it is slackened off , AND ya cant tell by looking .You may want to further trim the nipple to length and filing at least one side of the disc smooth ( where the ball bearing bears against it ) can only make it better.

The Brembo and Italian thread pitch in general, is often different from the common Japanese thread pitch, as in usually finer pitched. If you have a thread pitch gauge you can check it. If you don't, have one, now is good time to buy one. Other wise, pull it out, and use a ruler to measure 10mm and count how many threads are in 10mm. For metric threads pitch is the distance between threads. 10 threads in 10 mm is 1.0 pitch. 7.5 threads in 10mm would be a .75 pitch.

Most likely its 10mm.

I am assuming you mean that the wrench flats have been rounded out and only a Channel Lock will make it work any longer. Steal one from a Brembo caliper and see if it fits.

I'm pretty sure its a standard Brembo part. Check out www.bevelheaven.com parts listing and it should be there. If I'm not mistaken, its the same bleeder as that fitted the a caliper.
