520x106 links....or 520x96 links? The chain is so ugly on this thing I can't see what it says on it? What size do I need?

I don't mean to tell you how to suck eggs but ..... go for an "o" ring chain if you can , and bear in mind that a lot of the 520 chains available are only suitable for smaller engined bikes so make sure you tell your supplier you want a heavy duty one . If a chain breaks there is every chance it will wipe out you crankcase too . I have a Regina o ring chain but there are other brands which are just as good. If you clean and lube your chain properly it should last at least 20,000k's so its worth using a rivoted joining link . I clean my chain on the bike with a small paint brush and cheap degreaser ( it WILL NOT harm the o rings ) and a few rags to contain the mess . Lube ( chain wax .... maxima ) every 1000k's ( more often in the wet ) and clean as needed ..... hint ... get a chain with gold coloured side plates , the incentive to keep it clean is there coz they look so cool
