I made this screen about six years ago for a 1500km trip. I wanted to make something that would not alter the look of the bike. I fitted it temporarily just for the trip, just tying it on with wire over a protective rubber strip, so that the body work was not altered at all.

I drew the shape onto 4.5mm polycarbonate, and got a plastics shop to cut it out for me. There are cut-outs for the brake and clutch levers. I made a form, covered with a soft fabric, to get the side curves, and the bottom edge to conform to the Paso screen. Then I formed the screen in the oven of the local pizza shop.

I removed the screen after the trip, because I was living in the city, and rarely rode on the highway. Now I've moved to the country for my retirement, and spend more time on the highway, so I've fitted it permanently. I used four 5mm stainless coach bolts with lock nuts. I made isolating grommets out of several diameters of clear plastic tube.

It makes a huge difference at highway speeds.

The pad tied onto the tank is for my small dog to ride on. His harness is fastened to the ties. The pad is a 'dog bed' consisting of a hessian sack filled with straw. The ties are plastic-coated stretchy curtain wire, and the clips are made from strong plastic-coated coat-hanger wire.

What was your top speed with normal steering behavior with this necessary indeed screen ....?

Very creative, but maybe if it wasnt so "big". Your pushing a whole bunch of air with it as big as it is....any handling issues? I bet if you were to cut it down slightly apperence would improve with about the same amount of protection? Well done though!

Here's the thing ... I have always thought that it would be a toss up between a 86 VFR750 and the Paso as to which had the best ( wind and weather wise ) fairing of all my bikes. I might be tempted to fit a 907 blade but that's it
Gotta say tho it looks like a pretty tidy fitment

I too thought about a 906 blade....just havent gotten around to doing it!

Need to ask, what the hell do you hunt with that gun hanging in the background?

The fastest I have been is 120kmph, and the steering was maybe just a little heavier, but fine. It feels very easy to get to that speed with the screen in place - "Whoa! I'm doing 120kmph already!" Comfort is vastly improved.

In the photo showing the screen from the seat side, it looks bigger than it really is.

The Remington is to hunt deer in the hills where I live now.

It's just a hobby for me - a natural and healthy way to get into the mountains and forests, and if I'm lucky, get some venison.

We have five or six introduced species of deer in in New Zealand, and they are classed as pests - their numbers need to be controlled because they damage the forests, and we are allowed to shoot as many as we like. There are a few other species in the wild - mainly possums and goats, which are free to hunt also. New Zealand is a great country in which to hunt - maybe the best in the world.

But if the price is right, who do you want to be hit?

Yeah pity we aint allowed to shoot as many of them as we like too , they are a far bigger pest than any Deer

good idea Sergio, back during the roman times, political leaders (Emperors) got killed on a regular basis...maybe thats what Italy needs now to get things back on track again

I think the corporate worms in Brussels and their local pop.tarts are a bigger problem for Italy than italians.
