Re: Oil leaks 89 900 ss
Thanks randtcastell, the paint is at best 90% atm so I may revisit some panels in the near future or after my next surgery. I'm keen to fit the nos indicators and finish her up but I'm guessing I'll backtracking a little on the painting, I have a spare set of decals. The 2 big fairings are sweet, asthe frt guard, seat hump , the tanks not bad it's mainly the seat base.

That looks bloody lovely! Nice work. And while I've currently made the choice to just bolt my 750 back together, rather than restore it, seeing work like this really gets me wondering whether I made the right choice! But yeah, I *think* I did - I can ride it for the summer, and then if I feel like it, take it apart again next winter for a cosmetic refresh.

Re: Oil leaks 89 900 ss
I have been busy reworking the paint and happy to say it's probably more of a 95% on a bad day now so I will bolt her up and put the indicators on, I might just put the original mirrors on as they're in excellent condition. Hopefully she'll be rideable very soon, I'll post some updated photos soon as well, nr your idea of getting a summer full of riding and considering yor next move for the future sounds like a winner, enjoy the ride mate.

I went with the later model 900 ss mirrors, I think they might be more functional and look pretty right, swapped the fuel tank internals to the freshly painted tank as well.

I've also fitted some new black mouldings to the bottom edge of tank and front edge of the new mra screen.

I had to go with silver plated fixings on the fairings as I so far haven't been able to find any black anodised screws

@Highway - Looks brilliant, you've done a great job! Could I please ask what sealant or special gaskets you used to transfer the tank internals? I'm awaiting some parts and preparing the do the same thing renewing the pump and sender.
Thanks

Re: Oil leaks 89 900 ss
Thanks for the positive feedback, as far as transferring bits to the new tank , I used a new black rubber flange seal under the fuel cap, original stainless screws as I couldn't locate and purchase new ones. A new crush washer under the tap post. The original green seal with the pump / sender attachment and I'm pretty sure that's all besides new fuel hose, I may have put a new o'ring on the fuel cap as well. I'll have a closer look at that later and check . I didn't use any sealants at all, not sure if you need to? I hope it doesn't weep around the filler cap area is my only concern, ill find that out only after I ride the old girl I guess. I hope this helps mate .

Thanks, appreciate the feedback. I'm not aware of a sealant either, just thought I'd ask before pulling things apart.
