Is this bracket same as early Paso? Same wheels and caliper, but don't know if spacing is same.

They look the same but the part no. for the Sport is 067080050 while that for the Paso 750 is 037080050. Could be worth a try if the Paso ones are easier to find.

the axle diameter is the difference

That explains the differing part nos. then. I guess if he is really stuck a smaller one could be drilled out or a bigger one sleeved.
