rear shock upgrade/penske

looking to replace rear shock with penske unit #8987, will this unit work on my 91 907ie, other recommendations

turns out that the penske mentioned in last post will not work, it is approxly one inche longer, look like i will have to purchase new shock... :thumbdown:

Penske can make one for you that will work. I have one on mine.....

Penske makes three models that they can set up for the 907IE. On the 8100 series reservoir, the line exits out of the top which is harder to fit under the side cover. The middle model is what I have, the 8660. It has 22 compression adjustments and increased low speed damping control. 2000 price was $895. You can contact them at Penskeshocks.com or (610) 375-6180. Excellent shock without the big price tag

I need a new shock for mine too. I have been talking to Works Performance in Canoga park CA. Hyperpro makes one (actually two) as well.

agree with everything positive that has been said about the penske shock. have one on my '91 and it rides and handles just beautifully.
well worth the money.
