fuel hose clamps

Hey all,

I'm finally changing the fuel hoses on my Paso - got 7mm ID / 12mm OD hose.
I want to get new 'cobra' clamps also.

Dinse only has the 11.5 size which according to page 3 of the chart below clamp 12-13mm hose.
Do you think that's good enough? I could get size 11 elsewhere, which is good for 11.5-12.5mm -- that'll clamp better I guess.

One more thing - the Y connectors from Dinse are quite different from the originals.

The originals were Malossi. They're not available in 7mm anymore, only 6mm (inner D 3mm) and 8mm (inner D 5mm)

What do you think it's better 6mm or 8mm? I'm using 7mm hose.

Hi,

I use cobra clamps myself (just a bit difficult to get them)!

From experience, 1 remark: measure the diameter of the fuel hose when you have slid the fuel hose onto the nipple and then you measure the outside diameter.
This because the Cobra clamps are beautifully made but very sensitive to the correct diameter (otherwise they will close but not clamp enough).
Also don't use a smaller size otherwise you will damage the fuel hose.
But honest: they are the best (looks a million euro's or dollars if you prefer)!
Look very professional (they are very easy to detach, you do not damage your hands and they never rust).

Hi,

Sorry forgot to react on your Y fuel connector: the only way is up!
These days mostly 6mm or 8mm are available (either plastic or messing).
I would use the 8mm, will work fine with the 7mm fuel line (but again, for this application measure the diameter once you have slid the fuel hose on the connector because it wil be different to the 7mm fuel hose on a 7mm connector).

I went with the 8mm Y.
Will see when I get them.

Thanks.

Stein-Dinse replaced the 8x13 with the correct 7x12mm hose - so all good.
