Fan thermo sensor/switch

Apparently my fan thermo switch is bad. Does anyone know of a replacement for the sensor/switch ? I've read that it's a common sensor/switch. But I am having a hard time finding one that is a correct fit. Of course I can always run a bypass switch but I'd rather use a workable thermo switch. Thank you!

That thermo switch was used on the 906, 907ie, 851, 888 and 9176 and early 748 but is no longer available.

However the switch for the later 748 and the 996 is available. It is essentially the same switch but with a different connector. It would need the connector of the 907 loom changed to fit.

A lot of this type of part was also common on cars. Isn't there a site or posting of common parts that where also used on cars at the time? Maybe it's on that list.

Thank you Derek! I did a search for the 916 temp switch and found an aftermarket switch a lot cheaper. I also picked up a "lower" temp switch and installed that one first. It has the same electrical terminals as the 907. Thought I'd give that a try first before cutting and splicing a electrical plug for the newer style.

for my 906 I ordered a Febi Bilstein 06031 fan switch which looks exactly the same. 22 x 1.5 mm thread , 92 and 87 C switch temps. I have yet to find out if it fits but it most probably will
