Motor work?

Post by Rlbol »

It is about time to rebuild my 907, 55k miles, But I was quireous as to what can be done? I would certainly not be against a big bore kit. But I really just dont know much about the 907 motor and what can be done to it. I would really like to just put an st3 engine in it. but i am not sure that is possble! Any suggestions and ideas would be greatly appreciated!!

You could go with a big bore kit, or just high compression pistons if the cylinders are in decent shape. It's basically the same engine as the 900ss so most parts from that would fit. Of course you'd need a chip to go with it, but I don't think that would be a big problem.

I've always wondered if a 9*6 engine would fit...

Thanks DesmoDog, I am assuming the worst, with the internals of the engine. That is a lot of miles! I have seen some mention of a 100HP 907 on the internet, but i have never been able to find any information about it or who built it. I certainly wouldnt mind that, but I dont need it. But would sure love for the 907 to pull like my 888 does.

Probably Doug Lofgren

Scroll down to the "two valve" area.

or more specifically:
http://www.visi.com/~moperfserv/907comp.htm

But I didn't see any link from that page to get to his index of stuff.

(And I don't think 55k miles is all that many!) :D

Rlbol, It can be hard job to add ST3 engine to 907 electrics, but surely little easier, if You have ST3 wiring harness with CAN line  Think first, do then....

Btw, earlier i taught to put 907IE engine to 750 Paso, but too big job! Surely can be done, but is it wise? I think, NO!

oh, i forget mention, that those ST2, ST3 and surely ST4s need totally different electrics, like ECU.
