There have been a lot of posts about this on various websites. Bottom line is the 907 is a PITA to match. You can try this for a little more info on it:

http://speedzilla.com/forums/showthread ... ght=tinted

I don't think you're going to find a color code to match because the color is more the result of a process than a paint mix. Pink primer with a red tinted base coat... sounds hard to believe, but I've heard at least two painters tell me that's what they had to do to match the color of the early 90's Ducatis.

Put a 907 (or early 851) next to a later "red" Ducati and you'll see they just aren't the same. The earlier bikes look nicer!

I second that. Tried to get a paintshop that specializes in painting bikes to match it and they had a hell of a time. They showed me swatches and I had to pick the closest one and used it to repaint the front fairing. You can tell the difference if you look close....but I will have to repaint the whole bike someday to make it look right.

I found out from 907 microfilm, that paint code is:

ANNIVERSARY RED
5395013
SALCHI

BUT, does anybody know, what that means in PPG code ???? (i havent asked already that from my painter, cause i want to know things first, then to painter....)

Btw, Metallic black 907 code seems to be:

SEAT 981
DIVER

Ps. I want to paint some parts to ORIGINAL 907IE colur, so all advises are welcome....

Then it would be best to find some original parts and expose the primer so you can match that too... it will be pink, and it does make a difference.

Hi Antti,
do you want to paint whole bike or only some part?
You have the same problem that I had with my 906.
The code you have found could be a Lechler code.
I had a blue Paso 906 and the paint code that I found was referred to Lechler colours.
But I think best would be match the color by a original part.
Ciao.

I want to paint front mudguard, one old right side main fairing and one mirror (at least) to original colour and i have brand new right side main fairing(have been inside package, so not get sunlight, what can change red colour easily) and seems, that i take it to painter to match colour and in this my case there is NO MATTER, what is original paint code? Am i right?

Btw, in many cars that red colour is very difficult, cause it changes very easily in some years, if it gets sunlight. That have been happened also to me. I have Opel Astra and i have to keep it in workplace direct sunlingt and its colour have changed alot

Forget to say, that little difficult decison, cause i have to paint hole bike after one or two years, and i want paint this spare mirror and mudguard alredy to original red.... How much that my old 907 colour have changed these years? soon  with these painting systems....

It's a very hard decision!
Where have you found a new side fairing? And how much have you paid?
It's impossible to know if and how the color is changed in the time.
Also I would want to repaint the front shield and the right rear fairing.
But I think it's best to make the color by a other part of the fairing or the tank.
Make me know what you think to make.
Ciao.

My bike fall down, BUT i had very good insurance, so insurance company bought from Ducati dealer to my bike new right main fairing (505Euros), right hand mirror(294Euros) and that "907IE" decal to fairing(58Euros) and give old ones also to me, what i am fixing just now, so it can be, that soon i sell new right main fairing to someone, who need it.....or i keep it in reserve for future, cause many Paso parts start to be hard to find... we shall see....
