Post by persempre907 »

Hi everybody,

Someone can tell me why  ?

Is the battery in good shape? When you start the enigne, does it turn over easily or does the battery seem to struggle a little to get it to spin?

My 907 had the same problem, turned out the battery was on it's way out. New battery solved it.

The battery should be in great shape because I have changed it 1 month ago!
But therefore the battery seem to struggle a little to get it to spin!
Have I to charge it?
Ciao.

Most batteries should be charged before use... but I think a long ride should be enough to charge it? So... it couldn't hurt but I wouldn't count on it fixing it.

The battery should show a charge reading of 12.5 volts. If the reading is over 12 volts and the starter still does not spin quickly, then you have other problems, perhaps in the wiring. In that case, you should check and clean all the contacts in the wiring.

I think it is possible, but cleaning the contacts may help the starting, in any case.

Francesco,

If the battery contacts are really dirty / corroded they can reduce the available power to the point where it can just bring the solonoid in and barely turn the motor over. Make sure the contacts are clean and the terminals are tight.

Good luck.

Really, only after 1 month that I've changed the battery his contacs seems corroded. It seems strange to me.
Thanx.
