cam pulley

the 906 developed a rattle the other day, got me home and when checked over found the pulley on the vertical cylinder was loose so stripped the head off and found quite a bit of wear on pulley bore however fortunately no measurable wear on bore got a chance of a couple of pulley from a 916, as far as iI can tell the are the same except the 916 ones have no flange, is this correct?
cant physically measure them to check as they are at a mates who has no measuring gear and lives too far away just to pop around

Not sure if the 916 pulleys are adjustable , but I go for adjustable as the factory cam timing is terrible .
When I bought my 906 it had the rattle and like you it was a loose vert cyl cam pulley . The only real damage was flogging out the keyway a bit . I peined the damage back into shape on the cam .
Both my cams were out , horiz was 4⁰ and vert was 6⁰ .......or the other way round , cant remember

The bore on the pulley has a step worn in it about 0.6 mm fortunately there is no wear I can measure on the camshaft. Can you suggest an adjustable pulley I could use? The 916 pulleys would be free from a mate,well apart from postage or fuel to pick them up.

18 tooth cam pulleys from a 851/888/916/748 will fit on a 750 Paso/Sport, 906 or 907IE. The 20 tooth ones from the Teastastretta won't. Most cam pulleys, specially aftermarket ones don't have the outer flange.

Thanks paso750, probably saved me a trip and a hangover. Will get them posted and take the paso down to deliver the beer payment when its sorted, will also get a blast on his mhr bevel so will have too wait till weather improves cos he doesn,t let it out in the wet
