Hi all..

I found a 1990 UK spec 906.. a bit scruffy but complete, running(ish) and original.

I thought "..a few weekends in the shed with some WD40 and a rag and it'll be a good 'un."

Well, 6 years later.. after engine out, full strip-down, replacement of every chassis bearing, belts, stripping/cleaning/fiddling of the Weber, forks rebuild, endlessly searching Ebay for odd parts, etc, etc.. It's (almost) finished.. MOT'd & taxed.
Just the seat to re-sculpt to correct shape (A previous owner must've cut some foam out. How short must they have been??).

Original discs, brakes, exhausts, chain/sprockets and even correct tyre sizes.
Only non-original parts are a specially made Hagon shock (old leaking Marzocchi impossible to rebuild) and black braided steel brake lines.

Not quite show standard as I want to use it but I'm delighted to finally have such a pretty and rare bike that I nearly bought back in 1993 but chickened out and went Japanese.

A really clean looking bike. Nice job.
Two comments tho. The center stand seems to be hanging a bit low and the rear axle excenter is upside down.

Hello all..

Thanks for the compliments.. I'm really pleased with the result.
A bit of a 'labour of love'.
Maybe paid a bit too much for it originally and since then have stopped keeping count of the costs of the refurb.. defo more money in it than it's market value (but no intension of selling).

It's a bit of a mystery to me why they're not worth more than they are.
'Full fat' desmodromic motor, styling by Tamborini.. Ducati even have a 750 Paso in their Bologna museum!

I guess it follows that if it wasn't super-popular when it was new then, it won't be sought after 33 years later.

Having said that, it always draws a crowd wherever I park it :)

(PS. Thanks 'Paso750' for the observations. I will investigate)

Very nice looking 906 , my compliments! I have a 906 too, it draws a lot of attention indeed but they are not popular on the market.
