Cry for help

Just down the road I have a, not particularly bright, friend who also owns a 907. We were discussing poor electrical connections and how to improve them, and he decided to start with the 2 big yellow cables from the alternator to the regulator.
He found that, as per several threads on the forum have proved, the plug had melted, so chose to cut the cables at each side of the plug.
According to him, at that very moment his mobile phone rang, a long call ensued, and when he got back to his wiring job, he had forgotten which way round the cables had been attached. Now he has no idea which way to make the connection. Yes, I know...
Please can anyone help him in his dilemma? I suggested that as both cables are the same colour, it probably wont make any difference, but as my electrical knowledge is not good enough to be confident, I thought I should consult the forum...er... on his behalf..

Doesnt matter which way they go . They are the ac (alternating current ) output from the alt and they have to be regulated and rectified in the reg/rect before they are useful .
If you want to get involved make sure you have a good wiring diagram. :)
