Geez I'm posting a bit here :P

So with the wheels on I gave the front a push. Suspension went down and came back up but without much enthusiasm. No leaks/marks on the forks, just doesnt feel great. Maybe with me on boaerd riding it may feel better but the bike is a while away before it hits the road.
Wondering if anyone has drained the fork oil throught the drain screw and put in new springs and fresh fluid whilst forks are on the bike.
Put it on a front stand, drain oil, push the forks down and put oil in, lift, drop in springs forks cap on and.... sounds easy...too easy...
Hyperpro make a kit which isnt too expensive, postage is not too bad Dunno if there are many options here in OZ.

One thing , Make damn sure the bike cant fall off whatever you are using to hold it up . I have seen more than once where when the weight comes off the front suspension, bike front end drops and the whole plot rolls forward off the stand and falls over , and if its on a bench/table its a long way to the floor . Oh my Guzzi was fine because it landed on Dianne's bike ............she was far from fine :D

Just my 10 cents but for what its worth I would take those forks out and pull em apart as that oil will be well old and you wont be able to clean them properly in place. Also a chance to replace the fork seals as they will be old too and being made of rubber... not an expensive part.
That's what I did with mine anyhoo. A stand that locates inside the bottom of the steering stem is essential for this job.

There is a lot of 40mm seals out there. Is it anything for a 40mm marzocchi fork? The genuine part number doesnt seem to generate a set.
