Re: Braided brake line problem

Sorry to confuse Paso750. I mean the picture that I posted on May 25 above.

Re: Braided brake line problem

Thanks Peter, so am I.
I may send the picture of the Venhill lines and the Cobra line to the Cobra distributor, however they are just distributors and have been told that the problem is at my end and therefore are not really interested.

Re: Braided brake line problem

Not one that you can see clearly. But you can imagine if it is drilled from one end for the line from the master cylinder there is a reaonable chance that when the holes for the lines to the caliper are drilled the mating face because of the master cylinder drilling is always going to be curved and ...

Re: Braided brake line problem

After being totally disappointed with the Cobra brakelines which rely on the line sealing inside the line splitter on some non existent flat face, I bought a set from Venhill. A bit more expensive but it works a treat and it does not leave a chunk of thread showing either at the line splitter or the...

Re: 906 cutting out

I had a similar problem. The bike used to cut out if I pressed the horn or operated the brakes. For me the worst one was when I indicated to go around a roundabout and it faltered every time the indicator flashed. I cleaned all the connectors up but got the biggest improvement by fitting relays, whi...

Re: Braided brake line problem

Now that I am back in France I am able to measure the length of the fittings that Cobra supplied as correct for the Paso. The fittings that go into the line splitter and the brake disc are exactly the same and look just like the fitting in the middle of the picture from paso750. The length of the fi...

Re: Braided brake line problem

Paso 750 thanks for all of those pictures. The one showing the lines into the splitter are exactly how I envisaged mine looking. The bike is in France and I will be back there early May so I will measure the fittings to see if they are the same length at both ends when I get there. I can also measur...

Re: Braided brake line problem

W/o the splitter you`d lose the brake light switch and would need one at the master cylinder. I have a set of MQ (MotoQuality/Brembo) 3 piece brake lines and they are fine. Did you replace all copper washers and tightened the lines correctly? My brake lines have the screw-in end pieces. Fix on one ...

Re: Braided brake line problem

BMW 851, This gets more confusing by the second. I have had feedback from someone at Hel and they say the line splitter does not need gaskets which is contrary to what the suppliers of line splitters are saying. Just to clarify did all the fittings to the splitter require copper washers.

Re: Braided brake line problem

That's interesting PasoRoo. Did the lines from the line splitter to the discs have copper washers fitted and did the fittings screw in far enough into the line splitter to compress them. I have been told by the Cobra people that they have sold "hundreds" to Australia (manufactured under li...

Re: Braided brake line problem

I think cutting it is worth a try, before I throw it in the bin. It is just a pain bleeding the system if it doesn't work. Indeed I spoke to the people from Goodrich yesterday and they suggested exactly the same thing. Venhill have been the most clued in so far as they said immediately that it needs...

Re: Braided brake line problem

That is another option Higgy, but I was hoping that if these companies are selling a product it would be fit for purpose. I just hope that someone on here will have been successful with the standard OEM format and can enlighten me.

Re: Braided brake line problem

Yes I replaced all the copper washers. The problem with the Cobra set up (in my opinion) is that they believe that copper washers are not needed at the splitter and feel that there is an internal (conical) seat in the splitter like there is in the calipers, which there is not. Two companies that sel...

Braided brake line problem

Has anyone bought a set of braided brake lines for the 906 Paso. I am talking about the OEM set up with the 3 brake lines, ie one from the master cylinder to the splitter and 2 lines going from the splitter to the discs. Having bought them did they fit and remain fluid tight without modification. If...

Re: Grose Jets

Hi ved. I emailed him but to date I have had no reply, which I take as product unavailable. Guess I will stick with the needle jet after all. Presumably the Grose jet was not universally accepted.
