Re: Front brake master cylinder
OK so that did not fix it, as although the brakes worked well they did not release properly. Fortunately I was only 50metres from my house at the time. On examination of the calipers it appears that the pistons are not movng freely on one of them and once on effectively stay on. The small springs on...

Re: Front brake master cylinder
The previous owner fitted new brake shoes and had not used it after that. I have only done a few miles on it before the problem arose. I have just slackened off the screw and I can now rotate the wheel although the pads are still rubbing slightly but that may be because the discs are rusty after har...

Re: Front brake master cylinder
Thanks for the replies. I have a set of braided lines on order as my intention was to overhaul the brakes as much as I can, when they arrive. Once they are replaced I was going to check the master cylinder out. I will however check out the screw on the brake lever as my view was that something was s...

Front brake master cylinder
I think I have a problem with my front brake master cylinder in that I went out for a ride and the brakes locked on at low speed. I could not pry the pads away from the disc to release it. I undid the bleed nipple at one of the calipers to release the pressure which freed it up and manged to limp ho...
Re: 55 DCNF?
There is a great deal written about this on many bike websites. The problem arises for vehicles registered before 2003 but which are not old enough to qualify as a classic. Unfortunately as it's pre-2003 you won't get a Certificate of Conformity. You'll have to go down the route of getting a certifi...
Re: 55 DCNF?
it`s a typo. In my car papers it says I can use a 225/45-17 tire on a 8x16" rim. Noone can explain how that would work  The rims are 8x17 G. Strange that they would even bother to enter the carb data, which seems superfluous if it's stock. That said, I'm trying to get an European Cert...

Re: The real reason it is called a 906. . .
I thought it was called the 906 so that if you ended in a ditch upside down they would still be able to recognise that it was a 906

Re: Maiden Voyage
Brilliant, unlike my bike at the moment. I know what you mean about the backfire although to date I have only had one when I was trying to start it. Sounded like a cannon going off. It upset the quiet of the village to say the least. I had expected to see the silencer shredded.

Re: Maiden Voyage
Thanks for the info. A few things to look at now. Just a bit of extra information. The horn is working now. It was due to a loose connector on the horn. Why would the engine cut out when I pressed the horn switch when one wire was loose but not touching anything ? Started the bike yesterday and on t...

Maiden Voyage
Took the Paso out yesterday for a reasonable first test ride since I rebuilt the carb. Did about 72 kilometers. This was the first time I have had it on the road since I did 4 kilometers at the back end of last year. Very much a curates egg job. Responsive on the throttle but a little hesitant at lo...
Re: Sat Nav
Sorry I didn't mean mount them on the bars as this is not feasible unless you are very clever with some tinware to loop a bracket under the brake/clutch and switch gear and then use the mounting bracket to fix it onto the bike. You can though use this if you fabricate a small bar and tie wrap it on...
Re: Sat Nav
If you mean am I sure that the fluid reservoirs will get in the way of a handlebar mount - no I am not. I was suggesting that it looks very tight, unless someone knows better.
Re: Sat Nav
Thanks for the replies. Yes I was looking for something more secure than the magnetic fixing.
As regards the handlebar mount is there enough room on the Paso bars as the fluid reservoirs seem to get in the way ?

Sat Nav
Has anyone successfully fitted a Sat Nav to a Paso. If so how did you mount it and was there clearance from the screen ?
