1989 900SS JAMMED IN SECOND GEAR
It jammed in second gear 15ks from home so it was a long slow ride back. When I pulled the left cover off I found this spring on the shifter arm broken. I have now pulled the fly wheel off and removed the whole assembly and was wondering if there is a stronger spring I can install? I cannot find the...

89-90 900SS CLUTCH ? Stack height and plate numbers etc
My workshop manual is completely useless and I am guessing it has what looks like barnett friction plates (5 not counting the thick outer plate)and 6 steels 5 2mm thick 1one concave at 1.5mm .Have a feeling it should have 6 or 7 friction plates as my manual says min thickness is 2.8mm and mine measu...

Re: RACE GLASS for 750 sport/900ss?
Thanks.
Looked at all of those sites before I posted here so I guess not.
Air tech will make some but need a pattern fairing.Too expensive to send from Australia.

Careful with those yokes then, they have been bored out to take the fatter legs, probably not much meat left. Don't overtighten the pinch bolts and they should be fine. Bike looks fantastic, I think the 2:1 would improve torque, what carbs are they? yeah the whole fork triple clamp combo had me con...

Ready for roadworthy inspection. The motor in this is not stock though the last owner did not say it had been modified but it makes my 93 ss with 41 fcrs and mufflers seem gutless compared to this old girl!Mono's in the first 3 gears off the throttle and revs out much faster than my 93.

Re: A custom Sport
Me also but thinking pantah 650 using Cagiva alazzura as a base with wide motard rims .Ratty 750 sport is also a consideration as they go pretty cheap here.Might not be too popular with the purists though. pre strip.jpg I copped some flak when I hacked up a 91 triumph trophy (now considered collecta...

Re: newbie with a just bought modified 89 900ss in need of T
As I bought it.Looks ok but on closer inspection it was pretty slapped together. 88 900ss.jpg Here it is naked.Have cleaned the frame up and welded some new tangs for the new exhaust hanger .Fitted later swing arm (straight bolt on with a bit of shimming)and fitted the rebuilt shock which I got back...

newbie with a just bought modified 89 900ss in need of TLC
Hi Everyone Have just bought a 1989 900ss which came fitted with 998 front end and a box of parts including a 2004 1000ss swingarm and a after market shock to suit which I will fit once it has been rebuilt . It looks ok but everything has been slapped together and it needs some sorting so I plan to ...
