Re: New Owner

Hi Sergio, I think the wiring shorted on the frame, but will check the regulator when I remove the panels?
Is the regulator a weakness to the system?

Re: battery life 10 years or longer?

Has your bike got a standard rectifier/rectifier? I changed mine on a Benelli I own to a modern electronic one and so far my battery is nearly nine years old! I think if a battery is not overcharged by a faulty unit it last much longer!
10 years is very good though!

Re: New Owner

Took some photos of the burnt out wiring loom, it's mainly under the seat area.
I traced the fault to a wire shorting to the frame!
I have purchased a S/H wiring loom and will attempt to fit it soon!

Re: New Owner

Went out today for my usual Sunday ride and after 5 miles the engine died and loads of smoke came from under the seat. When I looked under the seat a wire from the battery had melted all the insulation off it! I called the recovery after disconnecting the battery to avoid further damage. Luckily a l...

Re: Measuring the float height

I found this on a previous post on here I hope it helps? ...and the inevitable follow up question, when you are measuring the 42mm from the surface of the gasket to the bottom of the float when it is just touching the needle where exactly on the float do you measure as it varies depending on the pos...

Re: New member

Hi Kieth, I too was looking at that bike on eBay , I thought that it was a lot of Ducati for the money!
Glad it went to a Ducati enthusiast, hope you get it all sorted soon. I live in the Se near London maybe we could meet up at the Ace cafe on Italian night which is the second Thursday of the month?

Re: Another new happy duc907ie owner

When a bike looks as good as the one in the picture , it just makes you want to ride!
I had a 10 year brake from having a 907ie, as soon as I got one this winter it was better than I remembered. Puts a smile on my face every time I ride it!

Re: New Owner

I fitted a new lithium battery and the bike spins over nicely! It also is very small and extremely light! Took the bike on a long run today, I still can't get over how stable the bike is at speed and how little you get buffetted around. The only thing which needs some improvement is the headlight! M...

Re: New Owner

Thanks for the feed back about the batteries I was thinking about a lithium battery. My Makita drill I use for work has a lithium battery although it's 4 years old it still holds full charge and cranks my drill over right up until it goes flat!

Re: New Owner

Went out for a ride to a local bike meet in Flaunden at the Green Dragon, had an embarrassing moment when I left the battery died! It took quite a push to get it started! Is there a recommended replacement battery? And I have read that the main cables for the starter should be upgraded!. It had alwa...

Hi Derek you are correct my mistake! But electronics are still effected by increased or decreased voltage!

Re: Dashboard Died

If the battery is not fully charged this causes the voltage to drop which in turn increases the current ( amps) and this can blow the fuse! Always have a good battery on a bike as low or unstable voltage can damage electronics ie the ignition or fuel injection system !
